The Forest's Dark Heart

You have reached the dark heart of the forest. The trees close thickly over the path, and the silence is stiffling. There is no sign of other animals, though spiderwebs hang between several of the trees. The longer you linger here the stronger grows your feeling of intruding in a place where you are not welcome.

A path of broken stones half-hidden beneath the dead leaves leads from the East to the West. Watch your footing, lest you turn your ankle on a torn paving stone.
