Science Museum of Minnesota: The science museum was about two blocks from our hotel, so a small party set off on Saturday morning to explore it before everyone else made their way out of bed. I have no idea why this fish was in the Mississippi River exhibit, but I want one. Never mind that it's about 6 feet long and probably weighs about as much as my car does... |
| They had a plentitude of pterrosaurs, hanging from the ceiling throughout the museum. The black handleon the sign that you can just barely see in the picture at the right allows you to open and close the tyranosaur jaws. |
Mosasaur, anyone? This ship was on the roof of a costume shop down the street. |

| And they were building an ice palace across the street from the hotel. I got to watch a little of the construction while waiting for other people to finish packing; it was fascinating, though strangely pointless for such an impermanent structure. |
