Rocky Mountain National Park

On the way in, I had to stop to take pictures of the herd of mountain goats wandering about just above the road.

After tearing myself away from the tourist shops in Estes Park, which could take at least an entire day by themselves, I made it to the park itself, where I found this lovely display in the Fall River visitor center. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have told the birds this...

Do not feed cheesy poofs to the birds

There were audible thunderstorms going on in the mountains, but they always seemed to be somewhere else than where I was. You can see the line of rain across the far mountains in the picture here. Also in this picture you can see the alluvial fan, which apparently had come down far enough to close the road (it was a very wet summer.)
