Chloe always wanted to live in an enormous house with a tower, secret passages, and a dumbwaiter and to have adventures. However, due to accidents of childhood, she has had to settle for a series of ordinary houses and growing into a young lady with a passion for books and a suspicious affinity for Victorian furniture and spelling "colour" with an o-u. A self-acknowledged packrat, Chloe dreams of someday having an apartment big enough for all of her stuff. You can ask her what she really wants out of life, but the answer changes from day to day and veers from the severly cynical to the hopelessly romantic. Despite life's habit of constantly shifting the ground under her feet, she enjoys the process of living (especially the bits involving chocolate and red wine), and clings tenaciously to one fact: "You don't have to believe in wardrobes. They are there, with corners" (T.H. White).
